We are looking to recruit a graduate Electrical Control Design Engineer/Project Manager with an engineering background to join their team, with a focus on delivering industrial control and automation related projects. 

You will be responsible for assisting the Managing Director lead the development and delivery of complex and challenging products meeting cross-functional strategic and operational objectives to support growth, reduce operating cost and improve efficiency for Banelec.

You will have the technical responsibility for the delivery of projects within budget, to schedule to the customer requirements and will possess the motivation needed to cover the full project lifecycle.

You will work on a range of projects within the industrial control and automation industry, you will be involved in the full development lifecycle incorporating software design, implementation, testing and undertaking of on-site commissioning where necessary.


Deliver projects through the design and implementation of technical solutions
Assure technical delivery and ensure quality throughout the project lifecycle
Work within a team of engineers to deliver PLC projects from concept to completion. AutoCAD or equivalent would be desirable although not essential
Report effectively to the Managing Director on progress and workload
Project manage – Working with the business engagement manager to put in place the appropriate contractual agreements with suppliers and managing the supplier within the agreed contractual process to deliver projects to agreed timescales, resource and budget
Translate business requirements into an engineering requirement, in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
Vendor selection to identify new suppliers and partners capable of supporting the delivery of innovative system and technology
Vendor management of external suppliers, test houses, consultancies and experts from requirements through contract, build, acceptance, test and transfer to manufacture

Knowledge of Industrial control electrical and electronic systems
Designing, planning and preparation for electrical control systems.
Ability to deal with technical issues and make timely, sound decisions with minimal consultation.
Ability to develop a firm understanding and appreciation of system design, safety concepts and associated decision making within the relevant industries.
Knowledge of project management.
Computer literate in Microsoft Office
Knowledge and apperception of industrial electrical control systems.
Strong commitment to safety and quality
Maintain high standards of conduct
Possess cultural awareness and sensitivity
Good communication and interpersonal skills

EAL Level 3 Accredited PLC Courses
Prince 2
Working towards IET or InstMC membership
Knowledge of electrical controls design, PLC Software Design, HMI and robot programming
On-site Installation and customer acceptance
Provision of technical guidance to the System Build Team
AutoCAD or equivalent training
Provide direction and support to the team of electrical engineers and controls specialists who build and industrial control equipment.
Provide direction and support to electrical engineers carrying out maintenance on the facilities electrical control systems.

Qualifications and experience requirements

Good level of general education including: English and maths GCSE grade C or equivalent.
First or 2:1 in: electronic engineering, electrical and electronic engineering, other related disciplines


Masters in electrical and electronic engineering or related discipline

Accepted degree subjects



Up to £25,000, depending on experience
